Playing At Sunset

The amazing abilities of CSS nowadays allows us to create rich worlds of color, shape and movement. While the best practices we use since CSS2 are helping us to layout elements, new features of CSS3 are polishing the lines, making rounded shapes seem more real – less pixellated, shadows are helping us to create depth and animations to revive our still creations, JavaScript adds logics and asynchronous timeline. On top of it all, browsers move increasing amount of graphic calculations to the graphic card’s GPU, causing everything to act smoother.

Creating CSS rich worlds is a challenging task. It requires you to pay attention to every detail. Sometimes, the smallest tweak can be the difference between a real world and a fake one. I created this experiment just before sunset, while urban landscape is my real world, I always imagine it differently.
